On-line Training Classes
Our solution to training time scheduling problems is to offer on-line training!

Listen to and watch the instructor's computer moves live, ask your own questions or give input, and practice hands-on tasks -- all from the comfort of your own office.

Participants must use a computer that has both Tidemark and the application (Crystal Reports, System Utilities, or System Designer) installed and working. You must also have internet connectivity.

You may use "live data" for Crystal Reports classes, but we suggest using "test data" during the System Utilities and System Designer classes. You may contact us ahead of time to make sure your computer is set up right.

Each training is divided into three 2-hour sessions typically held on Tuesday thruogh Thursday, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, Pacific Time. This allows you to conduct your normal work for most of your day. Please put your phone on "mute" if your office is noisy.

Training Fee
The Tuition listed is per student registered to be live on the training. However, additional staff may be with the registered student and viewing/listening to the training at the same time at no additional charge. The registered student will be the only one interacting with the class and instructor.

Introduction to SQL and Creating Views for Tidemark
This course will cover an introduction to SQL (Structured Query Language) and how to use SQL within a Microsoft SQL or Oracle Database. The views will be geared towards the Tidemark database and how to pull information from Tidemark for use in views. The course covers the following topics:
  • Introduction to SQL and its uses with databases
  • Uses for views in Advantage
  • Structure of a view
  • Limitations of views in Advantage
  • Creating views for both Oracle and SQL Server
  • Testing views
  • Implementing views in production environments
  • Rights required for views
  • Managing views on the database

Introduction to Triggers
This course will introduce the student to database triggers on both Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases. Triggers provide a means for performing scripted actions on the database when information is added, deleted, or updated in the database. These actions can greatly extend the functionality of the Advantage application and provides greater flexibility in making case types perform specific tasks. The topics included in the course include:
  • Basic uses for triggers
  • Structure of a trigger
  • Limitations of triggers
  • Syntax of trigger scripts for both Oracle and SQL Server
  • Developing a trigger
  • Testing triggers
  • Implementing triggers in production environments
  • Managing triggers on the database

Return on Investment
This course will help the student understand how to design and analyze a project for its ROI (return on investment). A complete presentation and analysis will be done during the class to provide a working model on how create an ROI analysis for any project. . The course covers the following topics:
  • Discussion of ROI concepts for public sector
  • Design of a class project
  • Defining what to include in an ROI analysis
  • Creation of spreadsheet analysis
  • Development of ROI project document
  • Creation of a ROI presentation

Introduction to using Crystal Reports XI with Tidemark
The Introduction to Crystal Reports for Tidemark course provides the student with the basic skills needed to start creating reports pulling data from the Tidemark database. The course covers the following topics:

  • Structure of a Crystal Report
  • Overview of the Tidemark data structure
  • Creating table linkages
  • Creating and using groups
  • Sorting data within reports
  • Creating information summaries

Advanced Crystal Reports XI with Tidemark
In the Advanced Crystal Reports for Tidemark course the student will build on their training in the basic course and expand on their knowledge of using Crystal Reports for Advantage.

The Tidemark System Utilities training is designed to provide system administrators with the skills needed to maintain and update the administrative options within the Advantage environment. The course covers the following topics:

  • Activity configuration and management, includes activity attached tables, scripts, and conditional action setup
